Meerut: Under the Chief Minister's Mass Marriage Scheme, the district administration will organize mass marriage ceremonies at four locations in February. The district administration has appealed to eligible individuals to apply online to avail of the scheme's benefits.

What are the steps taken by the authorities?

District Social Welfare Officer Sunil Kumar Singh said that for the financial year 2025-26, Meerut district has been allocated a target of conducting mass marriages for a total of 748 girls under the Chief Minister's Mass Marriage Scheme. So far, the district administration has facilitated the marriages of 518 couples against this target.

Now, preparations are underway to organize four mass marriage ceremonies in February at four different locations. At each location, marriages of eligible couples from the surrounding municipalities and town panchayat areas will be solemnized. He informed that interested and eligible individuals can register online on the website https://cmsvy.upsdc.gov.in to avail of the scheme's benefits.

What is the schedule?

Mass Marriages will be held at these locations on these dates:

February 1: Virasat Farm House, Hasanpur Qadim, Garh Road (Kharkhauda, Machhra, Rajpura Development Blocks)

February 4: MB Farm House, Daurala (Sardhana, Sarurpur, Daurala Development Blocks)

February 8: Avatar Estate Farm House (Jani, Meerut, Rohta Development Blocks and Meerut Municipal Corporation)

February 12: Bhagwati Garden, Chhota Mawana near Flyover (Mawana, Parikshitgarh, Hastinapur Development Blocks)

What will be the budget?

The District Social Welfare Officer said that under the Chief Minister's Mass Marriage Scheme, an amount of one lakh rupees is spent on each couple for the marriage ceremony of eligible individuals. Of this, Rs. 60,000 will be transferred to the bride's bank account. Wedding gift items worth Rs. 25,000 will be provided, while Rs. 15,000 will be spent on organizing the marriage ceremony. The maximum annual income limit for the applicant's family to be eligible is three lakh rupees.
